The grip is made of ribbed plastic, saved in a good condition. There is a square a lot for fixing with rifle at the grip’s backside. The crossguard is steel and straight. The blade is still bright, has some age marks, marked. The scabbard is made of plastic, marked with USM8 stamp and has a fixing loop made of canvas, the scabbard has slight wearing marks at the mounting. Full length: 290 mm, blade length: 170 mm. Weight: 424 gr.
The Japanese-made M5 bayonet by KIFFE is very rare and high quality item. This is the model that was produced specially for for military needs, not for commercial sale. It is identical to the American prototype and differs from it only in small details, marking and the best workmanship.
